## Where pages live

Every page is a file of the version folder. Its place gives its address:

<Tree>
  <TreeItem label="docs/v1.0" open>
    <TreeItem label="index.mdx — the home page" />
    <TreeItem label="guide" open>
      <TreeItem label="index.md — /guide/" />
      <TreeItem label="01-hello.md — /guide/hello/" />
    </TreeItem>
  </TreeItem>
</Tree>

The <Tooltip text="Two digits and a dash at the start of a name: they order the menu and disappear from the address.">sorting prefix</Tooltip> sets the order without showing in the URL.

## Your turn

Create `docs/v1.0/guide/01-hello.md`:

```md
---
title: Hello
description: My very first page.
tags: [hello]
---
Welcome to my documentation.
```

The <Tooltip text="The block between the two lines of dashes, at the top of the file.">frontmatter</Tooltip> is optional, but it is what fills the title of the tab, the menu entry, and the tags below the page.

## Check yourself

<details>
<summary>What is the address of 02-setup.md, in the guide folder?</summary>

`/guide/setup/` — the prefix and the extension disappear.

</details>
